Skinny® Fruit Trees

Short on lateral space? Need something tall and narrow?  Why not consider a Skinny® Fruit tree by Fleming’s Nurseries.  This exciting new selection of columnar fruit trees are a perfect ‘tight space’ solution with naturally upright growing fruit trees selected for their unusual form.

Skinny® Fruit Trees, Dita Apple and Crimson Rocket Peach, are columnar fruit trees delivering beautiful crops of full size fruit on a narrow tree form.  Over time these trees will reach a mature height of around 4-5 metres if left un-pruned, but will remain naturally narrow to approximately 2 meters wide.

The top of the trees may be pruned heavily to maintain them at your preferred height which will result in a formal look when planted against a fence or in rows. ‘Crimson Rocket’ Peach is a beautiful juicy yellow flesh peach that is best eaten ripe.   ‘Crimson Rocket’ fruit will make excellent jam, jelly and paste.  Dita is a delicious crunchy apple with strong white flesh and good balance of the tart and sweet, ideal for eating fresh or cooking.

“Columnar fruit trees will save on lateral space while still growing quite tall.  These have an ‘upright’ or fastigate form.”   Wes
