Foliage
Three- to five-lobed, dark reddish-purple leaves up to 7 cm long and wide with a crenate margin and a silvery underside. The autumn colour is reddish-purple.

Greyish-brown, exfoliating in sheets that are cinnamon brown on the inside to reveal light whitish-tan new bark. The younger branches are reddish-brown.

Flowers
