The foliage of this Liquidambar is lustrous dark green in colour growing to 15 cm long, with deep, distinctive lobes. Autumn colour ranges from deep burgundy to red with some yellow. Full sun gives the best autumn colour.
Bark

Attractive corky bark develops at a young age giving added interest to this cultivar during the winter months.
Ornamental Fruit

Reported to be almost fruitless. What little fruit does form, drops before it becomes woody.
Tree Habit

Narrowly pyramidal, becoming more ovate with age.
Flowers

Inconspicuous. Emerging with the leaves in spring. Male and female flowsers are separate on the same plant (monoecious).
