Foliage
Distinctive bright bluish-green compound (pinnate to bipinnate) leaves usually with seven to 15 individual leaflets. The autumn colour is rich pinkish-gold in cooler regions and the new growth is purplish-red.

Pale greyish-brown and becoming furrowed with age.

Ornamental Fruit
Inflated, papery capsules up to 5 cm long resembling ‘Chinese lanterns’, yellowish in colour turning brown.

Tree Habit
Broadly ovate to rounded. Branches ascending and spreading. Usually grows as a multi-stemmed tree, but can be trained to a single trunk with pruning.

Flowers
Yellow flowers to 1.5 cm wide borne in open, upright panicles to 40 cm long at the ends of branches from mid- to late summer.
