Foliage
Juvenile leaves are dull grey, ovate with a rounded base. Adult leaves are ovate, longer and thinner. Leaves are rich glossy green, alternate, up to 16 cm long and hang downwards.

Dark grey to grey-brown and rough at the base. Upper trunk and branches shed long ribbons of bark, leaving a smooth, creamy-white or pink surface.

Ornamental Fruit
Funnel-shaped witha thick rim and flat top, usually with three or four valves. Seeds are dark greyish-brown.

A medium-sized tree usually with a moderately open crown and a straight trunk.

Creamy-white, often seven buds per cluster. Buds are usually diamond-shaped. Generally flowers from June to October.
