Foliage
The adult foliage is lanceolate in shape and can be up to 15cm in length. It is generally dark green in colour, although is often paler on one side. The juvenile foliage is broadly ovate in shape and generally a paler green colour.

Bark
Smooth with some dimples, whitish to reddish-grey, flaking in patches, thus exposing lighter areas and giving the trunk the spotted appearance.

Ornamental Fruit
Urn-shaped capsules up to 1.5 cm wide contain small glossy red-black boat-shaped seeds.

Tree Habit
A medium to large-sized tree with a single trunk. As tree ages the crown and canopy become attractive and moderately dense.

Flowers
Creamy coloured flowers are produced during spring in terminal clusters of three to five buds.
