Foliage
Adult leaves are light green, smooth, narrow lanceolate up to 16 cm long and 2 cm wide, slighlt drooping in appearance. The juvenile foliage tends to be more broad and have a wavy margin. When crushed the leaves have strong citronella or lemon aroma.

Bark
Decorative. Entirely smooth, uniformly coloured pale grey, some specimens can look slightly pink at times, peeling annually exposing a creamy surface underneath.

Ornamental Fruit
Barrel-shaped up to 1.5 cm long, three valves enclosed.

Tree Habit
A tall erect and graceful growing tree with a long trunk and sparsely foliaged canopy. Eventually forms quite a large tree which requires adequate space to develop and spread.

Large, creamy-white flowers produced in terminal clusters of three to five buds. Generally flower in spring.
