The spectacular display of deep pinkish-purple blooms make this a truly elegant addition to any garden. Effective planted as a specimen or in groups. One of the best heat resistant selections of the redbud cultivars.

    Heart shaped leaves emerge with a hint of soft reddish-pink, but quickly mature to glossy, vibrant green, leathery leaves. Leaves turn yellow-orange in autumn.

    Thin. Dark brown to grey with age.

  • Ornamental Fruit

    Overseas literature refer to pendulous flat 'bean'-like pods, 40-80 mm long. These pods appear after flowering and are purple in colour. Not observed in Australia to date.

    Small compact. Upright spreading to rounded.

    Abundant rich magenta 'pea'-like flowers that bloom along the branches in spring time, before the foliage emerges.
