Fleming's Nurseries Australian Inspiration at Chelsea 2004

A consortium of 'home-grown' companies highly regarded in the Australian landscape industry has been accepted as the first ever fully-international show garden exhibit at the famous Chelsea Flower Show in London.

'Australian Inspiration' as the exhibit is to be named, draws on Australia's wonderful and diverse range of design influences from all parts of the globe, a sort of 'melting pot' where the design influences are as one whilst retaining their individuality.

The presence of Australian Inspiration is the culmination of many months planning and preparation following the success of the original design at the 2003 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show where the garden won The Melbourne City Council award for 'Best in Show' and the Royal Horticultural Society Victoria's 'Comeadow Award for Design Excellence'.

Not content just to take the design to this famous London event, it was decided to replicate as closely as possible the winning design from Melbourne using materials and construction teams from Australia.

Chelsea has some 26 show gardens, chosen from submissions of many types and simply being chosen to construct is a major achievement and a difficult assignment. The team managed this with typical Australian verve with our proposal being among the most professional ever submitted to RHS Chelsea.

This is in keeping with the Australian Inspiration team focus of setting only the very highest standards for Australian business in general and for the horticultural, landscape design and construction industries in particular.
